An update on the wellbeing of sidelined Barcelona star Gavi has come to the fore this week.

And the news will no doubt bring a collective smile to the faces of Barcelona fans the world over.

Gavi, for his part, has of course been sidelined since November of last year, after suffering a ruptured ACL in his right knee during an appearance for the Spanish national team.

He has since been forced to watch on from the sidelines as his teammates, all too often, have toiled, a no doubt painful experience for a player who has long made clear his undying love for the Blaugrana.

Turning attentions towards Gavi’s efforts to mark his return to the pitch, though, things, thus far, have progressed smoothly.

The 19-year-old has not suffered any form of setback or problem in his rehab sessions.

And as much means that, all going according to plan, he should be ready to link up with new boss Hansi Flick’s squad for the start of next season.

That’s according to Marca, who appear to deny suggestions elsewhere in the media that Barcelona’s fans may not see their midfield starlet back on the pitch until October or November.

Though he will of course need to be eased back into competitive action, Gavi should be back in Blaugrana colours sooner, rather than later.
