The home crowd in attendance at Barcelona’s Champions League meeting with Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday made clear their support and appreciation for a somewhat forgotten member of the club’s frontline.
This came after Ansu Fati was at last afforded his latest appearance in the colours of the Blaugrana.
Barca are of course fresh off another outing to remember on the continent.
After welcoming Borussia Dortmund to Catalunya’s capital for a Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash, Hansi Flick’s troops ran riot, to the tune of an eventual 4-0 triumph.
On target on the night were all of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski (2), and Lamine Yamal.
And yet, as alluded to above, it was another member of the Catalans’ frontline which, late in the action on Wednesday, took its place centre stage in the headlines.
This came upon Ansu Fati being introduced to the fray for the first time since all the way back in January.
Amid what has proven a hugely challenging campaign to date for the young winger, the Barcelona fans in attendance at Montjuïc were therefore quick to throw their full backing behind Ansu, coming together for a massive cheer and ovation upon his entry to the pitch.
