The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League league phase is officially set, and PSG have landed in a demanding group. After a sluggish start last season, the Parisian side will be keen to make an immediate impact this year.
From the top-seeded pot, PSG drew Bayern Munich and Barcelona, promising high-stakes matchups from the outset. Tottenham Hotspur also feature, setting up an early rematch of their tense Super Cup clash just weeks ago.
The French champions’ schedule also includes challenging opponents from the lower pots. Newcastle United and Athletic Bilbao join the group, while Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta, and Portuguese champion Sporting Lisbon round out PSG’s path in the expanded 36-team league phase.

SPORT reports that, due to UEFA restrictions, Barcelona is very likely to face Valencia at the Johan Cruyff Stadium, Getafe at Camp Nou, and PSG at Montjuïc. The Spanish side likely wanted to face PSG at Camp Nou to get the most people in a stadium for this high-profile clash.
PSG open the Champions League on September 17 against Atalanta. However, all eyes are on that October 1 contest against Barcelona as these two sides were on a collision course to meet in the final last season. Regardless of where this game will be played, Barcelona want to face the Parisians.
“This is a match we are really looking forward to,” Jules Koundé said. “During the holidays, a lot of people told me they were excited for this match as if it were last season’s Champions League final, but we didn’t play it.”
