Barcelona are preparing for a potentially tense Champions League night at Spotify Camp Nou, with the club introducing strict security and ticketing measures ahead of next Wednesday’s group-stage meeting with Feyenoord.

According to SPORT, the fixture has been classified as ‘high risk’ by the Anti-Violence Commission, prompting Barcelona to implement an extensive containment protocol designed to protect fans and maintain a peaceful atmosphere inside the stadium.

The club’s approach places particular emphasis on controlling tickets and preventing supporters from gaining access to areas not intended for them.

Barcelona introduce strict ticketing restrictions

As per the outlet, the measures adopted impose a strong shield on the ticketing system. All tickets issued will be strictly nominal, and sales at the box office will be suspended.

Barcelona have also restricted sales through tour operators, while members will have priority access to tickets.

Those purchasing seats must accept an express commitment not to hand them over or resell them to Feyenoord supporters.

Once the purchase has been made and the ticket has been nominated, no change of ownership or transfer will be allowed.

Furthermore, if irregularities or attempts at fraudulent sales are detected, Barcelona will submit the file to its Disciplinary Committee to sanction those responsible.

As such, the restrictions are intended to prevent visiting supporters from occupying sections of the stadium reserved for the home crowd.

In addition, the presence of Feyenoord fans will be tightly controlled as well.

The travelling fans will only be able to access the Barça stadium through tickets managed directly by their own club.

Barcelona will also prohibit visiting-team colours and symbols in sections allocated to local supporters.

Within the sectors intended for the local public, it will be forbidden to display clothing, flags or symbology identifying the Dutch team; otherwise, the stadium security will proceed to remove the elements or expel those involved.
