Having lost one of their most important defenders from the last season and the only left-footed center-back, Inigo Martinez, in the last summer transfer window, FC Barcelona are now reportedly already making plans to replace him by signing a new player from the market.
Ever since the end of the last transfer window, the Blaugranes have been linked with several high-profile center-backs, including Alessandro Bastoni, Lisandro Martinez, Murrillo, Goncalo Inacio, and Luis Gustavo Benedetti.
Meanwhile, a report from Mundo Deportivo claims that the Catalans are also looking to take advantage of the broken relationship between the defender Marc Guehi and his club, Crystal Palace, to land him in their own team.

The Englishman was quite close to a move to Liverpool in the last days of the recently closed summer transfer window, but the Eagles ultimately decided not to agree to such a move.
Since then, the relationship between the two parties has broken, and Guehi is not looking to renew his contract, which ends in 2026.
Thus, there is a possibility that he can leave Palace for free, and Barcelona have joined the race for his signature, along with their eternal rivals, Real Madrid.
Marc Guehi has previously also been linked with the Catalan club, but for now, it remains to be seen whether these new links will lead to anything concrete in the future.
