Barcelona liken Gabriel Jesus to club legend after goal vs Racing | OneFootball

The social media team at La Liga giants Barcelona have drawn comparisons between summer signing Gabriel Jesus and an iconic figure in Catalunya’s capital on Thursday.

This of course comes after the Brazilian opened his league account in Blaugrana colours on Wednesday night.

Introduced off the bench during a meeting with newly-promoted Racing Santander, Jesus wasted little time in making his presence felt. Slipped in courtesy of a perfect pass on the part of Lamine Yamal, the former Arsenal man bent a gorgeous right-footed finish into the far top corner.

This marked the 6th goal in a 7-2 Barcelona rout.

And as alluded to above, these exploits have since earned for Jesus a comparison with one of the Catalans’ greatest-ever goalscorers.

In a post across their official social media platforms on Thursday, Barcelona unveiled some photos of their summer signing slotting home, accompanied by the caption:

‘That finish reminded us of prime Luis Suárez’s goal against PSG, after a brilliant nutmeg.’
