PSG have plenty of options in midfield, but their lack of size remains a talking point—one reason they’re reportedly considering a move for a veteran Arsenal player who is on the radar of Barcelona too.
Fabian Ruiz is the tallest regular in the group at 6-foot-2 (1.89 meters), but there’s a noticeable drop in height after him. Senny Mayulu adds some length at 6 feet (1.83 meters), though the 18-year-old is still a work in progress. Beyond that, PSG don’t have a true physical presence in the middle.
That could lead the club to target a more imposing midfielder this summer—ideally someone who fits Luis Enrique’s possession-focused approach without disrupting the rhythm.
Bringing in a veteran could also help balance a young core PSG have been steadily building in recent transfer windows.
With that in mind, Arsenal’s Thomas Partey has surfaced as a player to watch. According to club insider Charles Watts, Arsenal have yet to open contract talks with Partey, whose current deal runs out this summer. Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG are all reportedly monitoring the situation.

On Sunday, The Sun reported that the slow and complicated nature of negotiations has sparked interest from clubs like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, both aiming to reinforce their midfields without overspending.
The report also claims that Barcelona see Partey as a budget-friendly solution for their midfield, with manager Hansi Flick said to be a strong admirer of the former Atletico Madrid standout.
