Barcelona are already preparing for next season, and early decisions are starting to surface.

According to Fichajes, three players are currently not part of Hansi Flick’s plans moving forward, namely, Marc Casado, Joao Cancelo, and Roony Bardghji.

The report states that Flick held a meeting with sporting director Deco to discuss the squad structure and identify the departures required ahead of the new campaign.

Among the three, Joao Cancelo’s situation appears to be the most straightforward.

The Portuguese full-back joined on loan, but Barcelona reportedly have no intention of extending his stay once the agreement expires, despite the fact that he has been a reliable option whenever called upon.

The club’s sporting management does not see a long-term future for him, and his chapter at Camp Nou seems close to closing.

What about Casado and Bardghji?

Marc Casado’s case is more delicate. The academy graduate has shown commitment and work rate, qualities Flick appreciates.

However, the manager reportedly feels that the midfielder has not taken the required step forward in terms of quality.

In a key area like central midfield, Barcelona are looking for stronger leadership and more physical presence.

As a result, the club is open to facilitating his departure, ideally through a transfer that would improve finances and free up a squad place.

On the other hand, Roony Bardghji’s situation is different, as the young Swedish talent continues to impress Flick with his technical ability.

The concern is not his quality, but rather his development path. With Lamine Yamal now fully established and playing regularly, Bardghji could struggle for consistent minutes.

Barcelona do not want to stall the growth of a player with clear potential. For that reason, two solutions are being explored.

A loan move to a high-level club would allow him to gain experience, while a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause would protect the club’s long-term control over his future.
