FC Barcelona midfielder Gavi has gone through some difficult phases early in his career, but his response has been strong and consistent. After recovering from two serious injuries, he is now back in action and gradually rebuilding his rhythm for the Blaugrana side.
According to SPORT, this return to form is not happening in isolation, as Gavi has two clear objectives driving his current phase. Firstly, he wants to play a key role in helping Barcelona secure the La Liga title, and secondly, he is focused on convincing Spain coach Luis de la Fuente to include him in the squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
At the club level, his progress is becoming increasingly visible. Gavi has started the last three matches and is steadily adding valuable minutes as he builds match fitness.
He has been trusted in important fixtures, including La Liga games against Espanyol and Celta Vigo, as well as the Champions League tie at the Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid.
Before that, he had already played a full half in the first leg of the quarter-final clash against Atleti at Camp Nou, and also made substitute appearances against Sevilla and in the league match against Diego Simeone’s side.
In his most recent outing against Celta Vigo, he completed around 45 minutes, another clear step forward in his recovery process. The overall feeling at the club is that he is now moving closer to his best physical condition, with each game helping him fine-tune his sharpness.
With Barcelona entering the decisive stretch of the season and in a strong position in La Liga, Gavi is expected to continue receiving consistent minutes. These appearances are important not only for the team’s objectives but also for his international ambitions.
On the Spain side, Luis de la Fuente is closely monitoring his situation. The national team coach has always shown strong confidence in Gavi and considers him part of the core group.
Gavi will be hoping that Luis de la Fuente takes good note of his performances for Barcelona in these matches and makes him a part of the squad for the upcoming World Cup. The fact that he can play in several positions would be a big advantage for him, as there is a tough competition for the midfield spots in the Spanish team.
