Barcelona, in recent years, have stayed alert to the free-agent pool for reinforcements and are expected to continue with the strategy in the summer of 2026.
There have already been links to players like Marc Guehi, Dayot Upamecano, and Marcos Senesi – players whose contracts will be running out at the end of the season.
Now, it appears that another name has been added to the list of potential free agents Barcelona are closely tracking.
Indeed, according to SPORT, Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has entered Barcelona’s orbit.
The German midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season and has no intention of renewing with the Bavarian giants. And, at the request of manager Hansi Flick, Barça are monitoring his situation.
Moreover, the midfielder himself would prioritise signing for the Blaugrana in order to reunite with his former coach, with whom he enjoys a very good personal relationship.
Goretzka already has a strong proposal from Napoli on the table and has been contacted by several Premier League clubs, but he has put all talks on hold while waiting to see what may happen with Barcelona.

Barcelona have always paid close attention to the free-agent market, although signing a central midfielder is not currently among their top priorities.
The club plan to focus on recruiting a centre-back, a left-sided winger, pending clarification over the future of Marcus Rashford, and a centre-forward if Robert Lewandowski is not offered an extension.
Even so, a departure in midfield is not ruled out if a significant offer arrives for a player who is not part of the starting XI.
Last summer, there was widespread speculation about a possible exit for Marc Casado, and how the season ends will be decisive, as the academy graduate has gradually lost influence in the team.
Should a sale ultimately be required to potentially finance other transfers, the option of signing Goretzka on a free transfer could gain momentum.
