With the summer transfer window having been relatively quiet for FC Barcelona, the Catalan giants seem to be biding their time before making another any kind of advance. However, recent reports have linked the club to a certain Valencia player as well.
Javi Guerra, aged 23, is a Spanish midfielder who currently represents Valencia in La Liga. Already considered a promising player by many who follow the Spanish first division, it now seems that his talents might have caught Barça’s attention as well.
In fact, according to SPORT, La Blaugrana have now been made aware of the price that they would have to pay for his services as well if they decide to formally pursue his signing. That price would be exactly the one agreed upon in his release clause, which just so happens to be set at €40 million.

However, this revelation comes with a caveat, and that would be the fact that this release clause is only set at €40 million until the end of July. After that, as soon as the month of August starts, that value would surge to €60 million and make the operation less attractive than it currently is.
Yet, despite this update and the fact that Deco met with the player’s agent as well, the report clarifies that Javi Guerra is not a priority for Barcelona at the moment. After all, the team already has a midfield stacked with talent and a signing like this would only be considered a luxury investment rather than an urgent one.
As for the club’s priority targets, there are not a lot of active negotiations going on at the moment it seems. However, in the case of Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, a recent update claimed that Barcelona might be considering sending in another formal offer for the player following the conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
