FC Barcelona are set to face Real Sociedad in their upcoming La Liga fixture. As the seventh game of the league campaign for La Blaugrana, it represents an opportunity to assert their dominance and secure all three points at home.

Moreover, knowing that a win here could take them to the top of the table, Barça cannot afford to let such an opportunity slip. For that reason, Hansi Flick will likely rely on a strong starting eleven to ensure a win no matter what.

Predicted Barcelona lineup vs Real Sociedad

Goalkeeper: Wojciech Szczesny

Now that Joan Garcia has been sidelined due to a knee injury, this is Wojciech Szczesny’s opportunity to shine once again. He already knows what to do in these emergency situations, so this is familiar territory for him.

Right-back: Jules Kounde

The Frenchman remains in great form this season, and this match will likely see him start again for Barça on the right flank.

Centre-back: Andreas Christensen

Ronald Araujo started the last game, but Flick does tend to switch things up every now and then. Considering Andreas Christensen’s good performances so far this season, it might be Christensen’s turn to start this time around.

Centre-back: Pau Cubarsi

Still as composed as ever in defense, the Spaniard continues to showcase his defensive quality and his ball-playing abilities. His ability to build up from the back will be crucial in this game.

Left-back: Gerard Martin

With Alejandro Balde still recovering from his injury, Gerard Martin looks certain to start again for Barça.

CDM: Frenkie de Jong

When Frenkie de Jong was brought in during the second half of the last game, everything seemed to click for Barça. This time around, however, he seems likely to start for the Catalan side.

CDM: Pedri

Always in control and always ensuring that Barça remains one step ahead of any opponent, Pedri’s presence is a guarantee. With him in the team, Flick’s side knows that they already have an advantage in any game.

RAM: Marcus Rashford

With Raphinha now injured and Lamine Yamal having just returned from injury, it might be best for Marcus Rashford to start on the right wing. He has been in great form recently, and perhaps he deserves this start either way.

CAM: Dani Olmo

Considering that Fermin Lopez is still injured, this is yet another opportunity for Dani Olmo to shine. The Spaniard can play effectively in tight spaces, and Hansi Flick’s side needs him to do that more consistently.

LAM: Ferran Torres

With Rashford likely to occupy the right wing, Ferran Torres might be the clear option to start on the opposite side. His goalscoring form simply seems inevitable at this point, and Barcelona will certainly want him to keep it up.

So far this season, Robert Lewandowski has looked more effective as a substitute. However, he is still more than capable of making an impact early on, and Flick will likely bet on his quality from the very start this time.
