Barcelona President Joan Laporta puts temporary block on exit

Barcelona forward Vitor Roque has been heavily linked with a move this summer, despite only arriving in January. After agent Andre Cury stated publicly that he would either start playing or leave the club permanently, his future has been cast in doubt since.

It looked likely he would be on his way out had Xavi Hernandez  been in charge, but the arrival of Hansi Flick could be a reprieve for the Brazilian. All the same, Barcelona must register Roque this summer, and at €30m, plus his salary, even spread out across six seasons, it will still be chunk of their salary limit, which works against him.

Matteo Moretto has revealed to Football España that while there are still teams interested in Roque, President Joan Laporta has decided to block any exit for Roque until Flick has had a chance to evaluate him properly.

The 19-year-old Brazilian has not been given much of a chance in Catalonia, but has been linked with a move to Napoli and Fiorentina in recent months. Returning to preseason training a week early in order to get into good shape, Roque seems keen to do everything he can to convince Flick rather than leaving the club, be it on loan or permanently.
