Several changes took place in the FC Barcelona squad over the last summer transfer window, the most prominent of them being the departure of Inigo Martinez and the arrivals of Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford.

However, the most peculiar of these changes was definitely the one involving the midfielder Oriol Romeu.

According to a report from Diario AS, the Spanish midfielder had left Barcelona on 28th August after reaching a contract termination agreement, but this departure took place very silently, as there was no official statement from the club to thank him for his services.

After the termination of his contract, Romeu had a few days to find a new club, but he was unable to do so before the end of the transfer window for the major European leagues on 1st September.

Over the summer, he had several offers, including from Girona, but the Catalan club was wary of his knee problems, which had already kept him from performing at his best last year.

The transfer window is still open for some minor leagues, including those of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and Qatar, but it remains to be seen whether Oriol Romeu will be able to find a new club for himself in the coming days and weeks.
