Barcelona could be set for one of the more unexpected decisions of the summer transfer window, with Jules Kounde no longer considered completely untouchable at the club.
According to a report from SPORT, the French defender is no longer viewed as a non-transferable player, opening the possibility of a summer departure if a significant offer arrives.
The outlet assures that while Barcelona are not actively looking to sell Kounde, the club’s position has softened compared to previous transfer windows when any discussion regarding his future was quickly dismissed.
The development comes at a time when Barcelona continue to evaluate ways to improve their squad while balancing financial demands.
As a result, the future of several high-value players is being analysed, and Kounde’s name has now entered those conversations.
The outlet reports that Barcelona have already been exploring the market for potential right-back options over recent months.

In fact, sporting director Deco has held meetings with various agents as the club gathers information on possible targets.
However, any move for a new right-back remains dependent on Kounde’s future.
For now, Barcelona have no intention of signing another specialist for the position while the Frenchman remains part of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Although Kounde continues to be respected within the dressing room and remains an important member of the team, there is a growing feeling that he has not consistently reached the same level that made him one of Barcelona’s standout performers in previous seasons.
That perception has led club officials to become more open-minded regarding a potential transfer, especially if an offer arrives that could significantly improve Barcelona’s financial position.

From a sporting perspective, Barcelona believe they already possess enough internal solutions to cope with a possible departure.
Notably, Hansi Flick values versatility and both Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo have shown they can operate at right-back when required.
That flexibility reduces the urgency of keeping Kounde at all costs and gives the club greater room to consider a major offer should one arrive.
Lastly, a sale could also unlock financial opportunities elsewhere in the squad.
Barcelona remain keen to strengthen certain areas and raising funds through a high-profile departure would provide additional freedom in the market.
