Barcelona ready to part ways with fringe fullback for €5 million amid Dortmund, Milan interest | OneFootball

Following the departures of Pablo Torre, Pau Victor and Ansu Fati, Barcelona are now looking for more sales in order to reduce the stress on the balance sheet.

Hector Fort, for one, has emerged as the next candidate to leave Barcelona, with Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan already being linked with a move for the right-back.

Fort had assumed the role of a backup for Jules Kounde last season, but he failed to make a considerable impact and is no longer a part of Hansi Flick’s first team plans.

Barcelona ready to sell Fort

According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona are open to offloading Hector Fort this summer and are aiming to collect around €5 million in exchange for 50% of his rights.

The club believes this type of deal could offer financial relief while also preserving a future upside if Fort blossoms elsewhere.

Real Mallorca are reportedly leading the chase, but the interest from heavyweights like Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan could shake up the race.

Fort is expected to leave mainly due to the lack of guaranteed minutes at right-back, where Kounde remains the undisputed starter.

Internally, the Barcelona board sees this sale as a strategic way to ease the club’s registration problems. A swift exit for Fort would, in their view could solve all the registration issues throughout the season in one swoop.

There’s also a growing concern that fringe players could lose value if they don’t play, so a summer sale could fetch higher returns than waiting.

The coming days, therefore, could prove to be critical as Barcelona look to finalise the departures of fringe players such as Fort and Oriol Romeu.
