Another young footballer whom the La Liga champions have been monitoring is Sevilla midfielder Nico Guillen.

New contract for Guillen

Indeed, according to AS, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City have all had their eyes on young Guillen, who currently plays for Sevilla’s reserve team.

However, the young midfielder, who is celebrating his 18th birthday today, has signed a new contract with the Andalusian outfit, deterring interest from Barça and other interested parties, at least temporarily.

The young midfielder has extended his contract until 2029. His release clause has been set at €20 million for now, although it could increase, along with a possible improvement in his salary, depending on objectives being met.

Guillen celebrated his 18th birthday by signing the renewal and by returning to training under first-team manager Matias Almeyda.

The Argentine coach had already taken him on tour during pre-season, although he has not yet included him in an official first-team squad.

Following the renewal, it is possible that Guillen will finally be named in a matchday squad, potentially for the trip to Mallorca.

As for Barcelona, it remains to be seen if Guillen’s renewal changes their plans with regard to their interest in the 18-year-old midfield prospect.
