Barcelona rejected in ‘very low’ opening bid for attacking target

La Liga giants Barcelona have seen an opening offer for a leading summer transfer target firmly rebuffed.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards the proposal in question as having been sent the way of RB Leipzig.

As much, of course, comes amid Barcelona’s ongoing efforts to bring Dani Olmo back to the club with a view to next season.

After seeing their La Masia product light up the international stage alongside Blaugrana starlet Lamine Yamal and chief summer target Nico Williams at Euro 2024, the Camp Nou brass quickly set about bringing Olmo back to the club.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Wednesday is anything to go by, Deco and co. have this week stepped up their pursuit.

As per Sport, this comes by way of an opening bid for the 26-year-old’s signature.

Unfortunately for those of a Barcelona persuasion eager to see Olmo make his way to Catalunya’s capital this summer, however, the offer in question is said to have come in some way short of RB Leipzig’s expectations:

‘The first reactions from Leipzig have been leaked in Germany. For now, the leaks suggest that Barça’s formal proposal would be very low and far from the German club’s financial demands.’

Work, as a result, remains to be done in Barca’s pursuit…
