According to SPORT, FC Barcelona are preparing to take a firm stance if PSG step up their pursuit of Ferran Torres.

While the Catalan club are closely monitoring the advanced negotiations between the Spanish forward and the French champions, they have no intention of allowing him to leave cheaply.

The club will not stand in the player’s way if he decides to move, but they are determined to secure a transfer fee that reflects his value.

Barcelona Want €50 Million

As such, the report states that Barcelona have made their position clear: Ferran’s valuation is €50 million, and they do not intend to lower that price. The Blaugrana believe the figure is affordable for PSG.

Reports from France recently suggested the Parisian club could reach around €45 million, including bonuses, but Barça expect them to improve that offer before any agreement can be reached.

Ferran’s contract with the club expires in 2027. The Catalans have long avoided beginning a season with players entering the final year of their contracts.

While initial renewal talks have taken place, they have only been tentative. If Ferran ultimately chooses PSG, Barcelona will be willing to negotiate, but only under the right financial conditions and their asking price is set at €50 million.

PSG move changes the picture

Barcelona had expected the possibility of losing an important player during the transfer window. Much of the early speculation centered on Raphinha, but attention has now shifted to Ferran Torres.

Although the striker has delivered strong performances, he has not enjoyed the level of prominence he expected.

With only one year remaining on his contract, PSG’s interest has dramatically changed the situation. The reigning European champions have identified Ferran as a priority while reshaping their attacking options.

Following Gonçalo Ramos’ move to AC Milan and with Randal Kolo Muani expected to leave, Luis Enrique has requested a versatile centre-forward.

And, the Barcelona star fits that profile perfectly. The PSG coach knows him well, values his qualities, and believes he represents an excellent market opportunity.

Next steps

Everything now depends on Ferran agreeing personal terms with PSG and officially informing Barcelona of his desire to leave.

Once that happens, negotiations between the two clubs are expected to accelerate. A successful sale would also provide Barcelona with a significant financial boost during the transfer window.

The La Liga champions still need to generate income through player sales and also has Roony Bardghji and Marc Casado available on the market, although neither departure would generate a transfer fee comparable to Ferran’s.
