According to journalist Luis Miguelsanz’s report in SPORT, Barcelona have set a deadline of June 30 to complete the transfer of Ansu Fati to AS Monaco.

The Blaugrana are looking to finalise the deal as soon as possible, with both the club and the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, stepping up efforts to seal the move.

Ansu has returned from his holidays with his future still unresolved, but the destination is clear—Monaco.

The Ligue 1 side has convinced the winger with their sporting project, lifestyle in the principality, and a clear show of interest in recent weeks.

However, the timing is key. For the deal to be financially viable, Ansu must become a Monaco resident by June 30, taking advantage of the favourable tax conditions in the country.

Salary still a sticking point

It is said that talks over a loan deal with a €14 million buy option have been largely agreed upon.

There has also been discussion of a buyback clause for double the amount, should Barcelona wish to re-sign Ansu in the next two summers.

The only hurdle now lies in how the player’s €6 million net salary will be handled. Monaco cannot afford to cover the full amount, but due to lower taxes, they can offer Ansu around €4 million net, which would still require some compromises.

Barcelona are pushing for Monaco to raise their wage offer and want Ansu to forgo part of his salary so the club does not have to contribute anything.

For months, the player has been reluctant to leave Barcelona, but Mendes managed to shift his mindset by showing him the opportunity to reboot his career in Ligue 1.

With Deco and Ansu both now back in Barcelona, negotiations are expected to accelerate, with final decisions set to be made this or next week.
