FC Barcelona fans have long been waiting to see their team play once again at the Camp Nou. Despite several previous target dates that have come and gone, the long-awaited return finally seems within reach.

According to MARCA, the Catalan club is confident of securing the 1B occupancy license by mid-November. If that timeline is achieved, Barcelona could reopen the renovated Spotify Camp Nou in their La Liga fixture against Athletic Club, right after the upcoming international break.

This week, the Catalan club also expects the Barcelona City Council to grant the first occupancy license, which would allow supporters to re-enter the stadium. The club has already fulfilled all the requirements requested by the city authorities three weeks ago.

However, this initial authorization only corresponds to phase 1A and would permit access for around 27,000 spectators, limited to the Tribuna and Gol sections.

Barcelona’s management has opted to wait a little longer in order to return with greater capacity. The phase 1B approval would allow 45,000 fans to attend matches at the stadium.

If the current schedule goes as planned, Barcelona will play three more home matches at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys against Girona, Olympiacos, and Elche before finally returning to the Camp Nou for their clash with Athletic Club on the weekend of November 22 or 23.

The complete renovation of the stadium is expected to be finalized by 2027. For now, however, the club and its supporters are eagerly counting down the days to one of the most anticipated moments in recent history as they prepare for the long-awaited return to their iconic home.
