FC Barcelona remain attentive to exciting young talent with potential across the globe, with the idea of signing and developing them within the club’s ranks.
This strategy saw the Blaugrana rope in Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen this summer, with the 19-year-old expected to be registered soon with the first-team setup.
Now, it appears that Barcelona have taken note of another prodigious youngster, this time from South America.
Indeed, according to TNT Sports Argentina, Barcelona have set their sights on River Plate teenage gem Ian Subiabre.

The youngster has played 30 times for River Plate’s reserve team, scoring seven goals, while he has 18 senior appearances for the Argentine giants, in which he has one goal.
Subiabre’s current contract with River Plate runs out on December 31, 2026, and it might be a reason behind Barcelona’s interest in the teenager, apart from his immense potential.
Barcelona had held an interest in another River Plate gem, Franco Mastantuono, in the past, but the youngster ended up signing for Real Madrid earlier this summer.
It remains to be seen whether the Blaugrana are prepared to act on their reported interest in Subiabre and make a concrete move for him in the near future.
Any move, if made, is likely to wait until the January transfer window, considering that the Catalans’ financial situation is a bit tricky at the moment and they are fully focused on completing their pending player registrations.
