Despite signing the likes of Rodri and Anthony Gordon during the summer, Barcelona are able to make further additions in January. The club have extra margin due to returning to La Liga’s 1:1 rule at the start of the 2026-27 financial year, and they could look to use it when the transfer window re-opens.
So far, one of Barcelona’s best pieces of business has been Karim Adeyemi, who was signed for a mere €22m from Borussia Dortmund. The 24-year-old has three goals and one assist in his first six matches, a return made more impressive when considering he has only started on two occasions (vs Elche and Feyenoord).
After seeing how well Adeyemi has adapted to life in Catalonia, Barcelona have started to focus more on the Bundesliga market. According to Fussball News, their latest target is Angelo Stiller, who has been one of the best midfielders in Germany in recent years.
Midfield is not an area that Barcelona need to address at this stage, with Rodri, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi and Marc Bernal at Hansi Flick’s disposal. Because of this, their interest is only in its early stages, although it could progress depending on circumstances, which was the case when Rodri was signed in the summer.
Furthermore, Stiller could be a market opportunity in 2027, given that his Stuttgart contract only runs until the summer of 2028. He’s unlikely to sign a renewal, meaning that he could be available for much below his market value, which is something that Barcelona will be attentive to.
It won’t be easy for Barcelona to sign Stiller, if they do make a move. Arsenal, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen are all keen on the 25-year-old, although the Flick connection could provide them with an edge – if it is needed.
