Karim Adeyemi opens up on goal and celebration after helping Barcelona win over Levante | OneFootball

The German forward Karim Adeyemi was not a part of the starting lineup as FC Barcelona travelled to Valencia to face Levante for their fifth La Liga game of the new season. However, he was still able to contribute and help his team get a 4-2 win, as he came on from the bench in the 66th minute to replace Anthony Gordon.

After getting on the pitch, the German saw a good effort on goal go over the bar. However, he was able to get on the scoresheet during injury time, as he scored a goal, his team’s fourth of the night, after a good solo run.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Adeyemi also spoke to media after the end of the game. The forward revealed why he did not celebrate with a somersault, as he did after scoring his previous goal:

“I only do it when I feel like it. Not today. The celebration was for my children.”

The German was happy with his goal and with being able to help his team get a win in a difficult match:

“I’m very happy to be able to help the team. It came a little late, but we have the three points. It was a very difficult match, on a tough pitch and against a very aggressive team. In the end, we deserved to win.”

The new Barcelona signing admitted that he has a goal target in mind for this season, but did not reveal how many goals he was looking to score:

“I have a target number of goals in mind, but I’ll keep it to myself. I work to get minutes and I’m happy when I get them. The most important thing is to win.”

With the way Raphinha and Lamine Yamal have started the season, it would not be easy for Karim Adeyemi to get a lot of minutes. However, he still remains an important player for Hansi Flick, and hopefully, he will continue making important contributions going forward as he did today.
