The brass at La Liga giants Barcelona are keeping a watchful eye on the development of the star of the recently-completed U20 World Cup.

That’s according to Fichajes, who highlight Othmane Maamma as the player in question.

Maamma, for his part, spent recent weeks announcing himself onto the world stage of football. This came by way of his performances for Morocco at the U20 World Cup.

The Atlas Lions are fresh off clinching glory at the Chilean showcase, courtesy of a 2-0 finale victory over Argentina.

And along the way, the aforementioned Maamma proved himself nothing short of a crucial figure.

A 20-year-old attacker capable of lining out on either wing, the youngster notched a goal and four assists in six appearances, to clinch the prize for Player of the Tournament.

Such impressive exploits are already understood to have piqued the attentions of a player who just recently penned terms with English outfit Watford.

And as alluded to above, amongst those closely following Maamma are the reigning Spanish champions.
