Barcelona set to meet with super-agent today to accelerate out-of-favour star’s exit | OneFootball

The transfer market is heating up. With just over ten days remaining before the window closes, FC Barcelona are stepping up their efforts to sign a centre-forward and accelerate several departures that could create room for a key addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.

According to SPORT, Jorge Mendes is expected to arrive in Barcelona around midday to meet with the club and advance several transfer operations.

Cancelo signing to be completed

The Portuguese super-agent’s first priority is clear: to be present during the first days of Joao Cancelo’s return to Barcelona, and finalize the remaining details of a deal that is virtually complete.

The defender’s signing is expected to be announced soon, which will be followed by his presentation to the fans and media, with Mendes expected to attend.

But Mendes’ visit goes well beyond Cancelo.

Casado on the agenda

The agent will use his time in Barcelona to meet with Deco and Joan Laporta and discuss several issues concerning the club’s transfer plans. One of the main topics will be Marc Casado.

At Barcelona, Casado’s departure is increasingly expected to take place during this transfer window, although his destination and the final fee have yet to be determined.

This summer, after being involved in the operations for Cancelo and Karim Adeyemi, Mendes wants to help the club again with the La Masia midfielder’s departure.

As per the report, Mendes will present Barcelona with the different offers he has received for the midfielder, who is one of the players most likely to leave the squad during the final stretch of the transfer window.

Barcelona have placed a high valuation on their academy graduate and now want to know exactly what figures the interested clubs are prepared to offer, giving the club a clearer idea of how much they could receive from his transfer.

His exit could be important in creating financial and squad space for further moves. The next few days are therefore expected to be particularly busy behind the scenes.

With Mendes in Barcelona, the club hope to accelerate several outstanding operations and begin moving players out before making their final push for the centre-forward Flick believes is needed to complete the squad.
