Barcelona star admits ‘the coach asked me to change position’ during latest international outing | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pedri has provided an insight into a tactical message sent his way by Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente on Thursday night.

This, of course, comes fresh off a pulsating Nations League showdown between La Roja, and France.

En route to a 5-4 triumph for the former in Stuttgart, Pedri featured from the off, from an advanced attacking midfied role.

This is a position which the 22-year-old has filled on a number of occasions in the past, albeit with the widespread consensus remaining that Pedri’s influence is best felt from a deeper berth at the base of midfield.

It was therefore quickly taken note of upon the Barcelona man dropping into this very spot whilst the action was ongoing yesterday evening.

And drawn on as much by the media on the back of the full-time whistle, Pedri went on to admit that this came at the direct request of manager Luis de la Fuente:

“The coach asked me to change positions during the match, and it worked out even better!”
