Barcelona star applauded after another stellar Spain performance

As the October international break continues, several FC Barcelona players are taking to the field for their respective national teams, even though some of them can do very well with some rest.

This is particularly true for the midfielder Pedri, who once again donned the Spanish national team shirt last night, as the Iberians took on Bulgaria at José Zorrilla Stadium.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Canarian played 68 minutes in this match, and after this time, left the field with a thunderous applause from the crowd that showed its appreciation for the high-quality football the midfielder has been displaying.

Spain won this game by a 4-0 scoreline, and the scoreboard already showed a 2-0 lead for La Roja when Pedri made way for Pablo Barrios.

As he made his way to the sideline, he was hugged tightly by Luis de la Fuente, who must have been very happy with his performance, in which the midfielder attempted 109 passes and completed 101 (93%) of them successfully.

His influence on the game was most notable in the first half, where he orchestrated the best attacking plays and even came close to scoring, only to be denied by the crossbar.

Unlike Pedri, Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí was rested after playing the entire Spain-Georgia match earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford featured for 20 minutes in England’s 5-0 victory over Latvia, helping his side secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Replacing Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon with the score already at 4-0, Rashford recorded the most dribbles on the field despite limited playing time.

This international window has been challenging for Barcelona, with Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo returning injured after a left soleus muscle issue, sidelining him for two to three weeks.

Ferran Torres left the Spain squad due to a minor muscle overload, which is unlikely to keep him out of upcoming Barcelona fixtures. The most significant setback was striker Robert Lewandowski, who suffered a left hamstring biceps tear after scoring for Poland in Lithuania and will be out for four to six weeks.
