Barcelona star Andreas Christensen is not guaranteed to return to the pitch before the end of the season.

That’s according to physiotherapist Lluís Puig, who early this week provided a detailed into the situation of the defender during an interview with Diario Sport.

Christensen is for his part of course fresh off being dealt a fresh, and altogether considerable blow on the fitness front.

After being forced to limp out of Barcelona training at the Ciutat Esportiva on Saturday, the former Chelsea man was put through a round of medical tests on Sunday.

And as much confirmed a serious injury, in the form of a partially torn ACL in his left knee.

Ensuing reports pointed towards a recovery timeline in the region of four months facing the Danish international.

As per the aforementioned Lluís Puig, however, owing to the delicate nature of the injury and the knee at large:

“Christensen may miss the whole season.”

Barcelona, for the time being, have opted for conservative treatment for their defensive star, with surgical intervention not on the table.
