A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has been afforded a place in the Copa América Team of the Week.
The player in question? Raphinha.
Wide-man Raphinha, for his part, was part of the Brazilian squad condemned to an altogether disappointing Copa exit at the hands of Uruguay over the weekend.
After stuttering to a goalless stalemate through 90 minutes, the Seleção were unable to hold their nerve from 12 yards, bested by a Uruguay outfit bound for a semi-final showdown with Colombia.
Raphinha, to his credit, though, stood as one of the few Brazil stars who could leave the tournament with his head held high.
The former Leeds United man enjoyed a solid Copa from an individual standpoint, the highlight of which came by way of a sumptuous free-kick netted against Colombia last Wednesday.
And as much, it has since been revealed, proved enough to earn Raphinha a spot in the week’s best XI.
As per a release across the official CONMEBOL social media platforms, the 27-year-old has been included in the Copa América Team of the Week, alongside the likes of Emi Martínez, Lisandro Martínez, and James Rodríguez.
