Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong was on Thursday put through a customary ‘tunnel of slaps’ at the club’s training ground.

This came in celebration of the new contract afforded to the Dutchman.

De Jong is for his part of course fresh off a special day on Wednesday.

Following years of ongoing speculation linking him with a move away from Catalunya’s capital, the 28-year-old’s Barcelona future was at last set in stone.

This came by way of a contract renewal, though the summer of 2029.

Now considered one of the standout performers in Hansi Flick’s squad, De Jong’s fresh terms were hard earned, and fully deserved.

And as alluded to above, quick to make clear their delight for the midfield standout earlier today were De Jong’s teammates.
