Barcelona star rejects Sevilla offer | OneFootball

A long-time member of the midfield ranks at Barcelona has knocked back a proposal from a rival La Liga club.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Sergi Roberto as the player in question.

The name of Spanish international Roberto has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after the 32-year-old’s career-long association with the aforementioned Barcelona officially came to a close.

Roberto finds himself heading into the transfer window as a free agent, after the expiration of his terms at the Camp Nou.

A fresh agreement could yet be worked out between the parties, depending on the success of Barca’s efforts to get the club’s financial situation back in order.

Whilst as much is ongoing, though, a number of clubs from Spain and across Europe alike are understood to be keen on Roberto’s signature.

And one such outfit, it has today been revealed, recently went as far as to table an offer to the midfielder and his entourage.

As per a report from Relevo, Sevilla are the one club, to date, to have offered a contract to Roberto for next season.

The player, however, is understood to have shown little hesitation in rejecting the bid, whilst holding out hope of a Barcelona stay.
