Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has this week secured for himself another piece of history on the international football stage.
This comes owing to his appearance in Spain’s recent meeting with Austria.
Luis de la Fuente’s troops were back in action on Thursday evening, locking horns with European rivals Austria in the World Cup’s Round-of-32.
When all was said and done, La Roja emerged comfortable 3-0 victors, to book a high-profile Last-16 showdown with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.
The aforementioned Lamine Yamal featured from the off in the matchup, from his customary berth on the right wing.
And as alluded to above, owing to Spain’s eventual triumph, the Barcelona prodigy etched his name into the history books once more.
As revealed by statisticians Opta:
‘Lamine Yamal is the youngest European player in history to end on the winning side in 10 matches at major tournaments, aged 18 years and 354 days.
‘He is five years younger than the previous record holder (Kylian Mbappé – 23 years and 355 days).’
