A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona lasted less than half an hour in his latest outing on Sunday night.
The player in question? Pedri.
Pedri, for his part, was afforded a starting berth this evening, as Spain locked horns with Switzerland in a Nations League clash.
And the 21-year-old was enjoying a fine outing, as La Roja ran out to an early two-goal advantage in Geneva.
A twist in the tale for Pedri, was soon forthcoming.
First, with 20 minutes on the clock, the evening’s visitors were reduced to ten men, after Robin Le Normand was shown a straight red card.
And, after taking some time to decide how to reorganise his XI, Luis de la Fuente ultimately came to the decision that it would be Pedri who was sacrificed.
The Barcelona standout, in turn, was hooked from proceedings with 28 minutes on the clock, looking frustrated on his way to being replaced by Dani Vivian.
