The summer transfer window may have closed last week, but FC Barcelona will still be keeping an eye on the market. This is also the case for other clubs, some of whom have turned their attention to Catalonia in search of player(s) that could strengthen their squad in January.

Barcelona will have money to spend themselves during the winter transfer window, but they could have more if the decision is made to let certain players leave. The likes of Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde were strong linked with exits during the summer, but it is another defender that has emerged as a hot topic in recent days.

As per Sportowy (via CaughtOffside), Eric Garcia is attracting strong interest from three Premier League clubs. Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are all keen on the former Manchester City defender, who picked up an injury during Barcelona’s 5-0 victory over Valencia on Sunday afternoon.

Barcelona have price in mind for possible Eric sale

According to the report, all three clubs are considering whether to make a move in January. If they do so, Barcelona are unlikely to make it easy for a deal to be done, with an asking price in the region of €55m having already established by club bosses at Can Barca.

However, it would be a surprise if Barcelona listened to offers at all for Eric. He’s established himself as Hansi Flick’s starting right-back during the opening weeks of the 2026-27 season, and he has been as dependable as he was during the entirety of the previous campaign. The 25-year-old, who was part of the Spain squad at won the 2026 World Cup in July, is also very settled at the club of his life, so it would be a major surprise if he were to consider leaving any time soon.
