Barcelona’s pre-season tour in Asia is nearing its end, but not without a few setbacks. During the team’s final training session in South Korea, both Fermin Lopez and Inigo Martinez had to cut their involvement short.
As a result, neither player will be available for the upcoming friendly against Daegu FC, reports SPORT.
The session, which was held on Sunday morning, was the last practice before Barça wrap up their tour.
As such, manager Hansi Flick has made it clear to his squad that any sign of discomfort should be immediately reported to the medical staff.
The message was simple that it is better to rest now than risk injury with the new season just around the corner.
The outlet mentions that Inigo Martinez was the first to leave the training pitch. He had only featured for 45 minutes during the opening game against Vissel Kobe in Japan and missed the following match against FC Seoul.

His absence wasn’t a surprise, as the club confirmed he is dealing with muscle fatigue. The medical team and physical trainers have noted that the defender is reaching his physical limit.
To avoid any further complications, Barcelona have decided to leave him out of the final game as a precaution.
Fermin was the second to leave, and his disappointment was clear. The midfielder had to stop midway through the session after taking a knock to his knee.
Though the injury does not appear serious, Flick did not want to take any risks. He even offered Lopez a comforting hug before the youngster walked off the pitch.
Barcelona later confirmed that his absence is purely a precaution, although the player was visibly frustrated.
Both players will now focus on recovery as Barcelona look ahead to the start of their 2025/26 campaign.
