Barcelona take special measures to protect transfer-listed duo after Bardghji injury | OneFootball

FC Barcelona saw their transfer plans being dealt a significant blow yesterday as the young forward Roony Bardghji tore his ACL during training. The Swede was one of the players the Blaugranes had marked for a departure this summer, and he was reportedly close to a move to the Premier League. However, this injury has now ruled out any possible transfer this summer, as the player is expected to undergo surgery and spend a significant time on the sidelines.

Going forward, it appears that the Catalans are now taking extra precautions to ensure no other player who is close to a move away from the club suffers a similar fate. This is clear from a report from MARCA, which highlights that two such players, Marc Casado and Hector Fort, followed a special training plan on Tuesday.

Both of these players are likely to change clubs this summer, and on Tuesday, they completed a part of training with their teammates, but worked individually for the other part of the session. They were not a part of the team training session where the likelihood of contact was the highest.

Following Bardghji’s injury, Barcelona executives and technicians agreed not to expose the duo to any unnecessary risk, and to make them work with the rest of the group for only a part of the session. Both of them are not in Hansi Flick’s plans for the next season, so not having them in their best condition is not going to affect the German coach too much either.

This decision from the club is a further indication that they are not being counted upon, and their futures lie away from Barcelona. Marc Casado will find it hard to get any minutes in an already crowded midfield, which can get even more saturated if Rodri Hernandez arrives. Meanwhile Hector Fort spent the last season on loan at Elche, and does not seem to have a future at the club despite returning this summer.
