Barcelona are tracking Monaco left-back Caio Henrique ahead of the European summer window opening in early June. According to UOL, the Spanish side have stepped up their pursuit and Monaco want 15 million euros, roughly R$ 87 million, and are not expected to play hardball.

Flamengo have monitored Caio Henrique since last year and indicated they could table an offer, though no formal bid has been made for the 29-year-old.

Flamengo currently have two left-backs in the squad. Alex Sandro is first choice, with Ayrton Lucas as back-up. Matías Viña is on loan at River Plate in Argentina but remains under contract.

Caio Henrique is under contract at Monaco until June 2027 and joined in 2020 from Atlético de Madrid. This season he has 34 appearances and two assists.

"I talk a lot with my wife. We really liked Rio de Janeiro, the life, the beach. We are from Santos, so we are used to this beach life. I like it a lot. The gratitude I have for Fluminense is enormous," Caio Henrique said. He told Globo Esporte in May last year.

"For sure, if I could return to Brazil today, the preference would be Fluminense. I have always made that very clear. It was a club that opened the doors for me and I have great affection."

He had a brief spell at Fluminense in 2019 on loan as a midfielder, making 51 appearances, one goal and three assists, before a stint at Grêmio.
