Barcelona to present new signing on Friday | OneFootball

La Liga champions Barcelona are planning to present their first signing of the summer this coming Friday.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Joan García as the player in question.

It has of course been Spanish football’s worst-kept secret for some time now that goalkeeper Joan is all set to join Barcelona with a view to next season.

Amid a search for reinforcements between the posts, Deco and the Camp Nou brass quickly identified the 24-year-old – fresh off a spectacular campaign with Espanyol – as their priority target.

This culminated in the Blaugrana depositing Joan’s release clause with La Liga late last week.

And as alluded to above, a further update on the situation has since been forthcoming online.

As per a report from MD, Barcelona intend to make official their first signing of the summer on Wednesday, by way of a series of posts online.

From here, the plan of action is as follows:

‘The club is planning to officially unveil Joan this Friday, albeit in a similar format to their contract renewals. That is, without a press conference for the media, but with a private event in President Joan Laporta’s office and some initial statements to the club’s media.’
