Barcelona are said to be closing in on Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for about 11 million euros, according to The Athletic.

Talks are understood to be advanced as the Catalans seek a number nine after progress on Julian Alvarez stalled.

Hansi Flick’s side are looking to cover the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres and view Jesus as a market opportunity.

The 29-year-old scored three league goals in 14 appearances last season, and made only three starts.

Any agreement for Jesus would not end the Alvarez pursuit. Barcelona’s offer remains with Atlético de Madrid, though that move appears at a standstill.
