At a time when Barcelona have struggled with injuries and a lack of stability, Robert Lewandowski’s return to form has served as a real blessing for the Catalans.
The Polish international raised eyebrows with his sensational hat-trick against Celta Vigo and is currently averaging a goal every 64 minutes this season – a tally only bettered by Harry Kane.
Lewandowski’s performances are not just restricted to the club level, as the forward has been scoring goals for fun for Poland as well, notably being involved in a goal in each of his last four international matches.
In light of his brilliant form for both club and country, Lewandowski admitted he hasn’t felt like this in a long time, especially considering his early-season woes.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve played at this level,” he said in an interview with TVP Sports (h/t SPORT).
The Pole highlighted how happy he is to be performing for his nation, especially after going through real drama not too long ago.

“I appreciate these moments. I feel less stressed on the pitch. That comes with age. Every match and every minute is a great joy,” he said.
“We have two final matches left, and I hope we can celebrate in March with World Cup qualification. I’m enjoying everything I play,” he added.
Lewandowski is hopeful Poland will have a stroke of luck in the potential World Cup playoffs.
“We’ll come back down to earth a bit, and I hope we have everything we need for the playoffs. We’ve earned the points, and I hope we have luck in the draw.
“A lot has happened this year, both on and off the field. I’m glad the second half of the year has been up to the level we expected,” he said.
Having performed brilliantly for Poland, Lewandowski will hope to come roaring back into form for Barcelona when they take on Athletic Club at Camp Nou this weekend.
The veteran striker, after all, is gunning for a contract extension at Barcelona and is reportedly willing to lower his salary in order to continue in Catalonia.
