Robert Lewandowski is just a few hours away from entering the final six months of the four-year contract he signed with FC Barcelona in 2022, after arriving from Bayern Munich.
At 37 years of age, his future is still undefined, and is the subject of constant discussion, with there being no shortage of interest in his services as he nears free agency.
Indeed, according to BILD (h/t Mundo Deportivo), teams from leagues across three countries are following the situation of the prolific striker very closely.
From Thursday, 1 January, Lewandowski will be free to negotiate with any club he wishes.
Among the options now emerging is the MLS in the USA, where Chicago Fire are one of the teams interested in the Barça No. 9.
Meanwhile, in the Turkish league, Fenerbahce remain keen on adding the striker to their squad.

The third route for Lewandowski’s future is probably the one that has been discussed for the longest time, a move to the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
Talks are expected to take place between the league officials and Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, to assess the situation.
The 37-year-old striker, for his part, has insisted that there is no hurry on his part to make any decision over his future at this point.
“There is still time to decide. I don’t feel any pressure and I don’t know which path to take right now,” he said in a recent interview.
“I don’t talk to the coach about possible interest from other clubs. Nor is it a question of halving my salary. The decision will depend on what the club wants and what I consider best.”
