La Liga giants Barcelona were afforded the opportunity to sign a member of the attacking ranks at Chelsea during the January transfer window.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards João Félix as the player in question.
Frontman Félix, of course, is fresh off yet another transfer.
After a difficult first half-season back in the Premier League with Chelsea, the Portuguese international was farmed out on loan, linking up with Italian heavyweights AC Milan.
Prior to as much, however, Félix was offered up to the aforementioned Barcelona.
As per a report from Sport, whilst searching for a new club for their client for the 2nd half of the campaign, the 25-year-old’s representatives made contact with the board in Catalunya’s capital.
This came with a view to establishing the level of interest on Barca’s part in a reunion.
The approach, however, was knocked back, owing to both the Blaugrana’s wage situation, and the desire of Hansi Flick and co. to bring in a player with a different profile.
