“This season I’ve played for many teams. I’m learning a lot.”

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez praised Garrido before and after giving him his debut.

He believes the youngster is one to monitor over the next few months.

The Ripoll-born midfielder joined the club’s under-8 team in 2012 and has since played at every youth level.

The Catalan is now a part of the U19A squad, having risen through the ranks alongside fellow teammate Gavi.

Garrido has already played 20 games with three goals this season.

He is a valuable asset for Barcelona, and the future looks bright for the talented youngster.

After this deal, Barca will likely turn their attention to Gavi.

La Liga has rejected Barca’s first attempt to re-sign him to a new contract, and they will have to move quickly, or he will walk away for free.

Chelsea reportedly want to sign him on a free transfer and have contacted his representatives to make it happen.
