Lamine Yamal continues to redefine expectations at Barcelona, with the winger once again on course to dominate one of La Liga’s most demanding attacking metrics – dribbling.
As per MARCA, after leading the league in dribbles last season, Yamal has taken things up another level in the current campaign.
To put things in perspective, Yamal completed 161 dribbles in 35 matches, averaging 4.60 per game last season.
This season, that average has climbed to 4.72, which comes as a surprise due to increased defensive attention from opponents.
Even more remarkable is the fact that he missed several matches earlier in the season due to physical discomfort, yet he has still maintained the consistency.
At this rate, surpassing last season’s output, particularly in terms of efficiency, looks well within reach.

In comparison, during the 2024-25 season, he comfortably topped the charts ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Vinícius Junior.
The current season shows a similar pattern, with Yamal once again leading, ahead of the Real Madrid winger and Osasuna’s emerging talent Victor Munoz, a player on Barcelona’s radar.
Another key indicator of his growth is how his impact has intensified as the season progresses.
By December, he had accumulated 69 dribbles across five months. Since then, he has added 49 more in just three months.
However, reducing Yamal’s game to dribbling alone would be a mistake. This is because his evolution has been holistic, rather than feature-specific.
He is now contributing consistently with assists, creating chances, and adding goals to his game, while also contributing in defence, making him a multi-dimensional threat.
