Xavi Espart’s agent was spotted at Barcelona’s facilities this week, meeting with Joan Laporta’s advisor Enric Masip, according to a report from SPORT.
Interestingly, the outlet assures that the meeting was said to be informal and not related to any immediate concerns, as the youngster had only renewed his contract last summer until 2028.
The visit comes at a time when the 18-year-old has been training closely with Hansi Flick’s first team over the past couple of weeks, signalling growing confidence in his development.
Espart has been included in the matchday squads for Barcelona’s recent fixtures, including the Champions League clash against Olympiacos, although he is still waiting for his senior debut.
Despite not featuring in either of the last two matches, Espart’s involvement reflects the trust Flick and his staff have in his ability.
The young right-back trained with the senior squad ahead of both games, giving him a close-up understanding of how Barcelona’s tactical approach unfolds in real-time.

Those within the club believe it is only a matter of time before he finally earns his first senior minutes.
His inclusion in recent matchday squads is viewed as a reward for his progress and commitment.
Barcelona’s situation at right-back could accelerate Espart’s debut.
Jules Kounde has been the mainstay in that position this season, while Eric Garcia has occasionally filled in.
However, with the Copa del Rey fixtures set to start soon and Andreas Christensen’s fitness still being monitored, Flick may be forced to rotate.
That opens the door for Espart to make his long-awaited first-team bow – possibly in a La Liga match of lower intensity or an early Copa del Rey round.
The club believes easing him in gradually would be the best approach, ensuring the young defender continues his growth while gaining valuable top-level experience.
