After a thrilling week of domestic and European action, it’s time for an update of the Power Rankings table.

📈 Power Rankings: European giants just keep on winning

10. Porto ⬇️ (last week: 6)

Porto slide this week after the club’s unbeaten run came crashing to an end. A 4-0 win over Celoricense, featuring a Samu Aghehowa hat-trick, earned progress in the Taça de Portugal, but Porto were punished for defensive errors in Europe.

Francesco Farioli’s side conceded two penalties to lose 2-0 at Nottingham Forest, as Sean Dyche celebrated a debut win in charge of the Premier League side.

9. Galatasaray ⬆️ (last week: 10)

Galatasaray earned two big wins in the space of a week to climb our table. Leroy Sane scored twice as the Turkish champions claimed a hard-fought derby win at İstanbul Başakşehir, before Victor Osimhen put Bodo/Glimt to the sword in Europe.

A 3-1 success in Istanbul made it back-to-back Champions League wins for Galatasaray, who are aiming to reach the competition’s knockout rounds for the first time since 2013/14.

8. Man City ⬆️ (last week: 9)

Manchester City are motoring along nicely, in large part thanks to the brilliance of Erling Haaland. The Norwegian made it 12 straight games with a goal after netting in 2-0 victories over Everton and Villarreal.

City need more contributors if they’re to challenge for the big prizes, but Haaland has kept Pep Guardiola’s side in the running so far. City are unbeaten in nine and have won five of their last six.

7. AC Milan ⬆️ (last week: 8)

For the first time since September 2022, AC Milan top the Serie A table.

Rafael Leao’s match-winning brace against Fiorentina sealed a comeback win and place at the Serie A summit for Massimiliano Allegri’s side. Optimism has returned for a team with a rich history after a period of decline.

6. Barcelona ⬆️ (last week: 7)

Barcelona kept pace with leaders Real Madrid in La Liga ahead of this weekend’s huge El Clásico showdown.

The Catalans left it late to beat Girona in the derby, as Ronald Araujo netted in stoppage time to seal a 2-1 win. Things were far more comfortable in Europe, as Fermin Lopez’s hat-trick and a Marcus Rashford double inspired Barcelona to a 6-1 win over Olympiacos.

5. Inter Milan (no change)

Seven wins on the bounce have ignited Inter Milan’s season under Cristian Chivu.

Ange-Yoan Bonny’s early goal sealed a crucial 1-0 win at AS Roma in Serie A, before Inter swept aside Union Saint-Gilloise in the Champions League. The Nerazzurri are three from three in the Champions League and yet to concede a goal. Chivu has built on and continued Simone Inzaghi’s defensive legacy.

4. PSG (no change)

Paris Saint-Germain have not convinced domestically of late, but provided a reminder of their class in midweek.

The Parisians survived a scare during a 3-3 draw with Strasbourg in Ligue 1, recovering from 3-1 down to earn a point at the Parc des Princes. It extended their league form to just one win in four.

However, the European champions sent an ominous warning to their Champions League rivals on Tuesday night. A tough trip to Bayer Leverkusen? Not for this superteam. A 7-2 win in Germany was a scary sign of their firepower.

3. Arsenal (no change)

Are Arsenal the favourites for the Premier League and Champions League?

It’s a bold statement, but the efficiency and defensive strength of Mikel Arteta’s team certainly make them contenders. A 1-0 win at Fulham retained their place at the top of the Premier League, before Atletico Madrid were beaten 4-0 at the Emirates in Europe.

Arsenal’s defence has not been breached in the Champions League, while they’ve conceded just once from open play in 12 games this season.

2. Real Madrid (no change)

Not the prettiest week for Real Madrid, but job done. Kylian Mbappe’s goal saw the Spaniards squeeze past local rivals Getafe in La Liga, while Jude Bellingham scored the game’s only goal to secure another 1-0 win against Juventus in midweek.

Barcelona are up next in a mouth-watering El Clásico showdown. Are Xabi Alonso’s side capable of wrestling back La Liga from their arch-rivals? This weekend might tell us.

1. Bayern Munich (no change)

Bayern Munich have tied head coach Vincent Kompany down to a new contract, and it’s no surprise given their performances this season.

A 2-1 win in Der Klassiker extended their advantage at the top of the Bundesliga, with Harry Kane producing a masterclass to down Dortmund. In Europe, the Bavarians won again, thrashing Club Brugge at the Allianz Arena.

It’s 12 wins from 12 games in all competitions for Bayern this season.
