Barcelona’s deal for Rodri reaches ‘final stages’ | OneFootball

Fans of La Liga champions Barcelona have on Sunday evening been handed a notable update regarding their side’s ongoing pursuit of Manchester City star Rodri.

This comes amid confirmation that the two parties are now closer than ever to a definitive transfer agreement.

After overtaking arch rivals Real Madrid in the race for Rodri’s signature earlier this week, the Barcelona board saw an opening offer firmly knocked back by their counterparts at The Etihad.

Deco and co, in turn, regrouped, before returning with an improved proposal. And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, this bid appears to have been received in altogether more positive fashion in Manchester.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘Rodri’s signing for Barcelona is increasingly close to being officially completed. Talks with Manchester City are in their final stages, pending a few details before the exchange of documents for the signing begins.’

Hansi Flick, it is added, could have Rodri at his disposal as early as this coming week.
