The ‘Golden Ball’ for 2024 was of course handed out this past October.

Despite the widespread understanding in the buildup to the ceremony that Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. was in line to clinch the prize, it ultimately went to Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

As much gave rise to quite the debate across world football, between those adamant that Rodri was deserving of his triumph, and those left in disbelief by Vinícius’ snub.

One individual, though, of the opinion that the Ballon d’Or landed in the lap of its rightful owner, comes in the form of the aforementioned Lamine Yamal.

Speaking in the aftermath of being crowned Tuttosport’s prestigious ‘Golden Boy’, Barcelona starlet Lamine was drawn on the vote for the game’s best player, and went on to explain:

“If I had to vote for the Ballon d’Or this year, I’d have chosen Rodri.”
