Barcelona have wasted no time after returning to La Liga’s 1:1 Financial Fair Play rule, and immediately announced their return to economic stability by pulling off the signing of Anthony Gordon.
The Catalans are working on multiple big-name recruitments this summer and the next on their radar is Julian Alvarez. Their idea is to complete as many signings as possible before the FIFA World Cup.
It is, however, clear that they cannot finish all operations that they desire before the international event. After all, some of the later transfers will depend on player sales, a topic that still remains largely untouched by the administration.
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo now, Barcelona’s plan is clear – to complete priority signings before the World Cup and keep other recruitments on hold until player sales permit them.

They are aware that any sale or even departure could open the door to new signings by bringing funds and clearing up the wage bill. On that front, four names stand out as candidates to leave – Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casado and Roony Bardghji.
The club will listen to offers for the aforementioned players and look to sign a replacement for them should any of them leave. As it stands, however, none of them are close to a departure except Bardghji.
What is clear from Barcelona’s moves so far on the transfer front is that they have Hansi Flick’s stamp of authority all over them.

Having taken control of the team two seasons ago, the German manager has consistently delivered silverware despite the club not being in a position to back him with the signings he demands.
Now back to the 1:1 rule the goal is simple – to provide Flick with a squad that satisfies him with sufficient depth and quality across the field. Gordon was just the first step, and the summer will be long.
